New Zealand - Egmont National Park

Egmont National Park covers the forested upper reaches of Mt. Taranaki (also known as Mt. Egmont) where every stone and gnarled tree seems to be draped in moss and lichen. They obviously get a lot of rain here, but our visit was blissfully dry. We linked together a few short walking tracks (hiking trails) which included a waterfall, stream pools, and the evocatively named Goblin Forest. Another great day in New Zealand.

It doesn't take a lot of pattern recognition to see a head in this stump.
