Laos - Kuang Si Waterfall Plus Bears and Butterflies
We’ve seen a lot of waterfalls in our day and aren’t easily
impressed, but the Kuang Si waterfalls, though not huge, really struck us as
particularly beautiful with its multiple cascades and turquoise pools. We hired
a tuk tuk for the approximately one-hour ride south from Luang Prabang, also
stopping at the neaby bear rescue and the butterfly park.

Swimming is allowed in some of the pools, if you can brave the cold water.
Resident at the bear rescue. There are a dozen or so Asiatic Moon Bears here who were rescued from poachers and traffickers. Most would have otherwise been destined to the horrible life of being kept in a small cage and milked for their bile for use in traditional Chinese medicine.

Dead Leaf Butterfly. You really have to look closely to see that this is actually a butterfly and not a dead leaf. Amazing!
